K-12 STUDENTS USING VIDEO IN THE CLASSROOM
- Rosa Parks Movie
In this project, students in the entire elementary school watched a play about Rosa Parks. The students who performed in the play learned about Rosa Parks by researching the internet. They developed and wrote a script. To prepare for their storytelling performance, students created a web using Kidspiration. They videotaped each other with a digital camcorder as they performed their story in front of their peers. Each classroom was asked to display facts about Rosa Parks on their classroom doors. Using digital cameras, the students took pictures of the doors. The pictures were imported to iPhoto. The play performers used iMovie and iPhoto to combine the videotape, and digital photos and created a "storytelling movie" of Rosa Parks.
